Birds and Butterflies
I love birds! From listening to their twitters and tweets as the dawn breaks, to sitting on the porch quietly watching the many feathered visitors coming to my bird feeder, I am always fascinated by their beauty, colors, and the simple fact that God designed birds to fly. Wherever I go, there are always birds to watch; plovers running at the beach, the mighty eagle who took up residence in a pine tree in our Northwest neighborhood, delicate hummingbirds feasting on the fuchsias in shady hanging baskets, and the many colorful finches, chickadees, and sparrows at the feeders. I find birds to be some of the most fascinating animals in all of creation! A part of me should have been an ornithologist! And birds always make wonderful subjects for a new painting.
Butterflies are no less fascinating. The delicate beauty of their wings, fluttering against the breeze leads to wonder and amazement at their skill and ability despite the tiny size of most butterflies. It is a joy to step out onto the porch and find these delicate, little visitors at my hanging baskets or flitting around the butterfly bushes! Their beauty is a testament to the unending creativity of our amazing God!
